13/5/15 - Arn't we done yet?

This is just another day that will go down as a sad one for Pakistan. Today morning, a group of gunmen stopped a bus and shot people at point black range. Today, 45 people were killed and some more injured. 45 innocent people!  People with families and friends!

Today was a very tragic day, not only for Ismaili Muslims, but for the whole of Pakistan. I simply fail to comprehend the mentality behind such acts of brutality. What hurts even more, is the fact that we all know that the culprits will continue to roam free due to a corrupt system.

Being an Ismail Muslim myself, people assumed it would feel a lot more personal to me. Even though it does feel very close to my heart, it is not because the people belonged to my community or followed the same religion. I do not believe in Religion. As far as I am concerned, all religion does is create a divide; a very unnecessary divide. It affects me not because the people who passed away belonged to my community, but because they were innocent people who did not deserve to die in such an inhumane manner.

Words cannot express how ashamed I am of living in a country where people can be so heartless; that is what bothers me.
